About the Chef

For many years David Newton had dreamed of creating a company that would prepare and serve the incredibly flavorful food that he loved as a young man in Southeast Missouri. In the summer of 2010 that dream became a reality when David officially started the Bootheel Hospitality Group, LLC. DBA Bootheel Catering. “We are focused on preparing food with the freshest possible ingredients, bold flavors and Southern influences.”

We are proud that the majority of our business has come from word of mouth recommendations, repeat clients, and testimonials. We have developed a very strong and loyal following, in fact many of our customers have become our friends.

Of course he didn’t realize it at the time, but having access to farm fresh produce, fresh meat and game developed certain skills and knowledge that would become very useful in the future.“Being raised in an area with such a strong agricultural focus gave me the understanding and appreciation of the “farm to table” concept many years before it became a popular culinary philosophy.”

David has trained with some of the most successful barbecue chefs in the country and has had extensive training from L’Academie De Cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD, but most of his knowledge was self-taught. “I was very fortunate to have had grandparents that were incredible cooks who taught me the importance of preparing food with the freshest possible ingredients and a variety of cooking methods.” Additionally David’s family has a small restaurant back home that he assists with when visiting.

David resides in Arlington with his two daughters and their rescue dogs.  

David is a Certified Food Service Manager and Bootheel Catering prepares all food from an approved commercial kitchen.
